Under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, the central government gives residential consumers ₹30,000 for a 1 kW system, ₹60,000 for 2 kW and a maximum of ₹78,000 for systems of 3 kW and above. On top of that, Chhattisgarh has approved additional state assistance of up to ₹30,000, routed through CSPDCL, and Odisha gives ₹25,000 per kW for the first 2 kW plus ₹10,000 for the third kW (up to ₹60,000), so an Odisha household can receive up to ₹1,38,000 for a 3 kW system. The scheme is for residential households. You need a valid domestic electricity connection in your name, a roof suitable for solar panels, and you must not have already received another subsidy for rooftop solar. Commercial and industrial buildings are not covered by this scheme.

It depends on your electricity use. As a general guide, homes using up to 150 units a month usually need 1–2 kW, homes using 150–300 units need 2–3 kW, and homes using more than 300 units need above 3 kW. Each kilowatt needs roughly 10 square metres (about 100 sq ft) of shade-free roof. Share your recent electricity bill and we will suggest a size.

With an on-grid rooftop system, the power you generate is used in your home first and any extra is exported to the grid. Your DISCOM (CSPDCL in Chhattisgarh, or TPCODL, TPWODL, TPSODL or TPNODL in Odisha) installs a net meter that records both import and export, and you are billed only for the net units you consume.

For inverters we work with Waaree, Havells, Polycab, Deye, Selec and Microtek. We recommend a combination based on your roof, budget and whether you need battery backup.

An on-grid system is connected to the grid and is the most economical way to cut your bill, but for safety it switches off during a power cut. A hybrid system adds batteries so selected loads keep running during outages. The right choice depends on how often you face power cuts and your budget.

Very little. Panels should be cleaned regularly with water to remove dust, which matters in dry summer months, and the wiring, structure and inverter should be checked periodically. We provide after-sales support for the systems we install.
