PM Surya Ghar subsidy in Chhattisgarh

Households supplied by CSPDCL can combine the central PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana subsidy with additional assistance from the Chhattisgarh government. Here is what you can get, who is eligible and how the process works with an empanelled vendor.

How much subsidy you can get

The central government pays a fixed amount depending on the size of your rooftop system:

PM Surya Ghar central subsidy by system size
System sizeCentral subsidy
1 kW₹30,000
2 kW₹60,000
3 kW and above₹78,000 (maximum)

On top of this, the Chhattisgarh government has approved additional state assistance of up to ₹30,000 for domestic consumers, routed through CSPDCL. For a 3 kW system, that means combined support of up to ₹1,08,000. The exact state amount depends on system size.

Subsidy amounts are set by the government and can change. Check the latest figures on the official PM Surya Ghar portal before you apply.

Who is eligible

  • A residential household in Chhattisgarh with a domestic electricity connection from CSPDCL in the applicant's name
  • A roof with enough shade-free space for the panels (roughly 10 square metres, about 100 sq ft, per kW)
  • No subsidy already received for rooftop solar on the same connection

What size system do you need?

Size the system to your monthly electricity use. Your CSPDCL bill shows the units you consume each month:

Suggested rooftop solar size by monthly consumption
Monthly consumptionSuggested size
Up to 150 units1–2 kW
150–300 units2–3 kW
Above 300 unitsAbove 3 kW

Because the central subsidy is capped at 3 kW, a 3 kW system gets the maximum subsidy for most homes. Larger homes can install more, and only the first 3 kW count towards the subsidy.

Step-by-step process with CSPDCL

  1. Register on the PM Surya Ghar national portal: choose Chhattisgarh and CSPDCL, then enter the consumer number from your electricity bill and your mobile number.
  2. Apply for rooftop solar and choose an empanelled vendor. Solflip Solutions is empanelled with CSPDCL.
  3. CSPDCL checks the technical feasibility of your application.
  4. We survey the roof, design the system and install it.
  5. The installation details are submitted on the portal, and CSPDCL inspects the system and installs a net meter.
  6. After commissioning, add your bank details on the portal. The central subsidy is credited to your bank account, and the state assistance is paid through CSPDCL.

We guide you through each step and handle the installation-side paperwork with CSPDCL.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get both the central and the Chhattisgarh subsidy?

Yes. Eligible domestic consumers of CSPDCL can receive the central PM Surya Ghar subsidy (up to ₹78,000) and the additional Chhattisgarh state assistance (up to ₹30,000) for the same rooftop system. Both depend on meeting the scheme conditions, so confirm current figures before you apply.

Do I have to pay the full cost first?

Usually yes. You pay for the system, and the subsidy is released to your bank account after the system is installed, inspected and commissioned. Banks also offer loans for rooftop solar under the scheme, which we can explain when you request a quote.

Is the subsidy available for shops, offices or factories?

No. PM Surya Ghar is only for residential households with a domestic connection. Commercial and industrial rooftop solar is still a good investment because of the electricity it saves, but it does not get this subsidy.

Why does the vendor need to be empanelled?

The subsidy is only released for systems installed by a vendor registered for your DISCOM under the scheme. Solflip Solutions is empanelled with CSPDCL, so systems we install for eligible CSPDCL consumers qualify.
