Rooftop Solar · Odisha
Rooftop solar in Odisha
We design and install rooftop solar for homes, businesses, institutions and industries across Odisha, with a branch at Khariar Road in Nuapada district. We are empanelled with TPCODL, TPWODL, TPSODL and TPNODL, so eligible homes can claim up to ₹1,38,000 in combined subsidy.
Who we install for
- Homes: on-grid systems eligible for the central subsidy plus the Odisha top-up under PM Surya Ghar.
- Shops, offices and institutions: systems that offset daytime electricity use.
- Industries: larger rooftop plants delivered as complete Solar EPC projects.
We serve the whole state, including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Rourkela, Berhampur and Balasore, and western Odisha from our Khariar Road branch.
Designed for Odisha's climate
- Cyclones and high winds: in coastal districts we design the mounting structure and its anchoring for high wind loads.
- Salty, humid air: near the coast we use corrosion-resistant structures and fasteners and protect electrical connections from moisture.
- Heat and dust inland: in western Odisha we raise the structure for airflow and plan access for regular cleaning.
- Heavy monsoon rain: we route cables and position the inverter and junction boxes away from water paths, with proper earthing and surge protection.
On-grid or hybrid?
On-grid systems connect through a net meter installed by your DISCOM, so extra solar power is exported and adjusted in your bill. They are the most economical choice but switch off during a power cut.
Hybrid systems add batteries to keep selected loads running during outages, which helps in areas where storms cause longer power cuts.
Sizing your system
| Monthly consumption | Suggested size |
|---|---|
| Up to 150 units | 1–2 kW |
| 150–300 units | 2–3 kW |
| Above 300 units | Above 3 kW |
Each kilowatt needs roughly 10 square metres (about 100 sq ft) of shade-free roof. Homes get the maximum Odisha subsidy at 3 kW.
How installation works
- Site survey: roof, shading, structure, wind exposure and your electricity bills.
- System design and quotation with the panel and inverter options.
- Net-metering application with your DISCOM, and the PM Surya Ghar application for eligible homes.
- Installation of the structure, panels, inverter, earthing and protection.
- DISCOM inspection, net meter installation and commissioning.
- Handover and after-sales support.
Brands we work with

Frequently asked questions
Are rooftop solar panels safe in cyclones?
Panels themselves are robust; the risk is the mounting structure. In cyclone-prone coastal districts we design the structure and its anchoring for high wind loads and use fasteners suited to the roof type, so the array stays secure.
Does salty coastal air damage solar systems?
Salt in the air speeds up corrosion of steel parts. Near the coast we use corrosion-resistant structures such as hot-dip galvanised steel or aluminium, and stainless-steel fasteners, and recommend periodic checks of the structure and connections.
Which DISCOM handles my net metering?
The DISCOM named on your electricity bill: TPCODL, TPWODL, TPSODL or TPNODL. Solflip Solutions is empanelled with all four, and we coordinate the net-metering application and inspection with them.
Can businesses in Odisha get a subsidy?
PM Surya Ghar and the Odisha top-up are for residential households only. For shops, offices and factories, rooftop solar pays back through lower electricity bills, and we size the system on your daytime load.
